Historically media servers that could store and serve your DVD collection were strictly the preserve of the rich - systems like Kaleidescape and AMX's MAX Digital having the potential to leave you with little change out of £30,000! (though we have to admit that they are VERY nice toys - but at that sort of money they would have to be)

Now Escient brings you the Vision range of fully functional DVD media servers and players that allow you to distribute your DVD collection throughout your home at an affordable price.

With a simple easy to use graphical interface that allows you to play and store DVDs, play and store CDs, stream music and video from external devices, store and display photos as well as being able to access over 5 million songs on a subscription based music service as well as access over 120 internet radion stations. The system also allows you to set parental control so you have no need to worry about anyone seeing anything they shouldn't do.

The zones communicate utilising 1000BaseT (gigabit) Ethernet which makes it ideal for use with a MediaX network (if you are retro fitting the equipment to an existing property then you can use CAT6 as your cable infrastructure) you will need to add a gigabit switch to the system - we offer a choice of a 5 port or an 8 Port netgear switch for this function.

VS-100 & VS200

The all in one server/player, the VS model, comes in two versions, the VS-100 and VS-200. The VS-100 provides dual 500GB drives while the VS-200 provides dual 1TB drives, both feature reliable RAID 1 redundancy. Stand-alone the VS server/player allows the user to import movies, music, and photos to the hard drive for management and playback. The VS-100 and VS-200 have storage capabilities of about 100 and 200 movies respectively.

 

VC-1

The VC-1 is the networked audio/video zone player, that can stream audio and video from Vision™ servers, allowing playback of music, movies, and photos from any room of the home. The VC-1 also has a front panel DVD/CD drive that can be used for single disc play or even direct import to a VS or VX server.

 

VX-600

The large capacity media server called the VX-600 features four 1TB drives in a RAID 5 configuration and provides unlimited storage expansion for Vision™ VS and VC devices. The VX-600 provides advanced early detection monitoring systems for reliable installations in any networked home.
